LGBTQA+ PRIDE

We are Marta and Gemma, and we opened the business in 2024. We are not going to lie, it has been a challenging beginning, however, if we now look back, we have done a lot! From winning the Scottish st. food awards to organising the first fully vegan Burns Night in Edinburgh.

Sustainability and being kind with the planet is what drives us, that’s why our menus are 100% vegan.

BEHIND THE HOBS

Gemma Costa was the crazy mind behind the idea of opening a restaurant. Yes, everything started with the idea of opening a place, but life sometimes has other plans. All the good and bad things that happened to us led us to this: A plant-based catering and food truck 🚛💛

She is the creative chef behind every bit. She worked for over 10 years in the industry until she said: “Enough! I want to be my boss and do something good for people and the planet.”

It’s simple, cooking for people makes her happy.

BEHIND THE EMAILS

It feels weird to talk in third person when I’m writing about myself… Yes, I’m Marta, always behind the screens.
When Gemma proposed me the project, she knew I couldn’t say no. I love animals and I always had the feeling of not being able to do much for them. So opening a vegan food business, it’s definitely the craziest thing someone can do (because making it financially sustainable it’s not easy) but it’s the best way to change people’s mind about vegan food.

OUR MISSION

is to help people reduce their environmental impact through plant-based food without compromising flavours and protein intake.

💪 We are tired of working with companies that do not share our values (food and water waste, single-use plastic, bad working conditions to maximise profit).
Our business, our values.

🐄 We chose to have a plant-based business because of the environment.
(Meat accounts for nearly 60% of all greenhouse gases from food production)

🐖 Also because of the animals. (cows have favourite friends and can become stressed when they are separated from one another, Pigs are smarter than your dog and have a great memory).

🌎 Planet G is not just about the food; it’s a concept that promotes values and consciousness
that there is no Planet B.

ALL ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY

We opened the business having that word in mind. Things we do.
